It’s a girl! Ohio zoo introduces adorable Thomson’s gazelle fawn


The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is introducing an adorable new member to the public online this week.The zoo wrote on Facebook Monday saying on May 9, the zoo welcomed a female Thomson's gazelle fawn.According to the zoo, the fawn is currently being hand-raised by an animal care team because her mother died three days after giving birth to the fawn due to complications from the delivery.Zoo officials said the fawn is continuing to receive care behind the scenes and stated that the fawn is healthy.The fawn will be introduced to the savanna next spring."As with many gazelle species, Thomson’s gazelles are herd animals. So, even though the fawn is being hand-reared, she stays with a small group of Thomson’s gazelles 24/7," the zoo wrote on Facebook.The zoo asked the public to send the new fawn its warmest wishes.
