A 16-year-old is dead and three other people were injured in a shooting Thursday night in Walnut Hills, police said.
Ladarius Evans was found dead in the 3000 block of Walter Avenue just before midnight, the Cincinnati Police Department reported.
Officers responded to the area after a 911 caller reported gunfire.
Investigators said the other victims in the shooting are expected to survive.
No information about possible suspects has been released at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call homicide investigators at 513-352-3542.
This is the fourth mass shooting in Cincinnati this year, and the second in a week. The FBI defines a mass shooting as an incident with at least four victims killed or wounded.
On Saturday, two teenagers, a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old were shot in Westwood.
Gun violence rose steeply in Cincinnati when the COVID-19 pandemic struck last year. The rate of shootings has not returned to pre-pandemic levels.
This May was the worst May for shootings since at least 2008. Fifty-eight people were shot last month in the city, an average of nearly two per day.
So far this year, 16 people have been shot in Walnut Hills, according to city data. Six of those victims were shot last month.
