Sheriff identifies 21-year-old construction worker struck, killed by car in Butler County work zone


A 21-year-old construction flagger working in a Wayne Township work zone was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday afternoon. It happened just after 1 p.m. near the intersection of Trenton-Oxford and Jacksonburg roads. According to Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones, the subcontractor, later identified as Alexander King, 21, was directing traffic when he was struck by a car. King was taken to Kettering Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car stayed on scene. Distracted driving and impairment do not appear to be a factor, officials said. The investigation is still on going by the Butler County Sheriff's Office Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
