This week, I'll celebrate my two-year anniversary with The Enquirer as its Northern Kentucky government watchdog reporter. Seems longer, doesn't it?
Since I joined the community, I've reported on questionable maneuvers by a chemical storage company, explained why local judges have been punished by the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission, answered reader questions about bridges, detailed why a school board had qualms with a partnership it had with another school board, and much, much more.

NKY History Hour
Many mornings, I sift through emails from readers who liked or disliked an article I wrote. No matter the tone, though, I usually learn something. So I truly mean it when I say: "please, reach out to me."
When I published an article about a mystery family cemetery in March, I knew there had to be people in Northern Kentucky who knew more about the cemetery than what I learned through my reporting. Your knowledge comes from decades of family roots here and neighborhood conversations — and I wanted to hear from you.
And you delivered! I heard from people who lived near the fork in the road of Mt. Zion Road and Bristow Road in Independence, which is where the people are buried in an overgrown area.
But I also heard from people who have immersed themselves in genealogy. They told me which maps and census records to look at for more clues. Because of you, the readers, I was able to write a few follow-up articles about the cemetery.
But, the mystery remains.
One morning, while I cleared my inbox of out-of-state press releases and replied to others, I got an invitation.
Wednesday I will join the Covington-based Behringer-Crawford Museum for its NKY History Hour. I'll explain how I gathered information about the cemetery and tell you all about a few dead ends I faced along the way.
