Central Michigan’s Keller in critical condition after shooting

Central Michigan quarterback John Keller is in critical condition after being shot in the chest Saturday morning, according to a report from cm-life.com's Christian Booher, and a GoFundMe was established to assist with Keller and his family with medical expenses.

Cincinnati quarterbacks Desmond Ridder (9), Hayden Moore (8) and John Keller pose with the 2018 Military Bowl trophy after the Bearcats defeated Virginia Tech.

Keller didn't play in a game as a freshman for the Cincinnati Bearcats in 2018 as a walk-on from North Canton Hoover High School. After UC, he attended Pearl River Community College before committing to CMU in 2020. He sat out last season.

More from Booher:

Mount Pleasant police were dispatched to the apartment complex after receiving word of gunshots fired at an off-campus party around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

An investigation determined several subjects arrived at the party, and shortly after their arrival, a fight broke out. According to a press release issued by the Isabella Sheriff's Department, someone went to a vehicle during the fight, retrieved a weapon and began firing upon returning to the party.

According to the press release, a second, unnamed person was wounded in the shooting and is in stable condition.
