Craig Carton - former co-host of Boomer and Carton on WFAN in New York with long-time Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason - is in talks with MLB Network about hosting a daily, hour-long morning show, according to a report from NYPost.com's Andrew Marchand.
Carton, who now co-hosts an afternoon drive-time show on WFAN with Evan Roberts, said in a recent HBO documentary that he talked himself out of committing suicide a month before he was arrested in 2017 on four counts of fraud. He was released early from prison after serving about one year of his three-and-a-half-year sentence for his involvement in a scheme involving concert tickets.

Carton, 52, still owes the victims of his crime nearly $5 million.
MLB Network has had success in early afternoons with SiriusXM and former WFAN host Christopher (Mad Dog) Russo. Carton, though, is a different type of host than Russo.
While Russo is not going to lead the league in getting every fact right, he is an entertaining baseball savant. Carton, on the other hand, is more into personal potshots than knowing the ins and outs of the game.
He recently called ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan, a “weasel” after Passan and Mina Kimes broke the story about Mets GM Jared Porter’s harassing texts that ended up costing Porter his job.
Esiason and Carton reportedly have made up since Esiason said, of Carton, "He ruined what we all had." Esiason has co-hosted Boomer & Gio on WFAN since just after Carton resigned.
