Jemal Singleton, the Cincinnati Bengals' running backs coach the past two seasons who accepted an offer about one month ago to become the University of Kentucky Wildcats' running backs coach and special teams coordinator, is leaving UK to become the Philadelphia Eagles' running backs and assistant head coach, according to reports Monday from Kentucky Sports Radio.
Bengals running back Joe Mixon offered thanks and congratulations in January to Singleton shortly after Singleton accepted the job at UK.
Singleton was one of several Bengals assistants to depart after the team finished this past season with a 4-11-1 record.
Singleton joined UK's staff after he spent the two seasons with Cincinnati, one with the Oakland Raiders and two with the Indianapolis Colts. Before that, he coached running backs in college, at Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Air Force - where he starred at running back.
Duce Staley left the Eagles last month to become the Detroit Lions' assistant head coach and running backs coach. He had been Philadelphia's RBs coach since 2013 and assistant HC since 2018.
The Eagles hired Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni last month as their new head coach.
