Snow on the ground coupled with temperatures below freezing will result in slick spots on some roads today, the National Weather Service said.
Some local schools have declared closures and schedule changes.
Temperatures will be in the low to mid-20s Tuesday morning and rise to a high of 33 degrees about 3 p.m. No additional precipitation is expected.
"Untreated roads will remain slick through the morning commute. Please use extra caution if traveling and allow for some extra time to reach your destination," forecasters said.
Expect the accumulated snow to stick around with cold temperatures this week.
Our next chance of snow comes Thursday and Friday, though no significant accumulation is expected.
A significant cold spell is expected to move in on Saturday night and linger into early next week, forecasters said. An arctic airmass is expected to settle into the region.
"Highs in the teens to around 20 and lows in the single digits will be coupled with winds that will push wind chills below zero," according to the weather service.
