Cincinnati native Michael Hill is among five additions to Major League Baseball's baseball operations department, per an announcement Monday afternoon. He will oversee umpiring and discipline.
Hill, who graduated from Cincinnati Country Day School after transferring from Withrow High School, spent the past seven seasons as the Miami Marlins' president of baseball operations. Before that, he was the team's general manager from 2008 to 2013.
Hill, who played baseball and football at Harvard University, recognized one of his high school teachers - CCD's Patricia Dunn - during a 2014 ceremony at Marlins Park on Jackie Robinson Day.
Hill played in the minors in the Rangers' and Reds' organizations before joining the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' front office in 1995.
