Why I became a journalist

I was a theatre kid growing up. I started ballet at age 3 and was in plays and musicals all the way through college. I majored in theatre, actually. But I always loved writing and research. I added journalism as a second major pretty much on a whim so that I could take more writing classes. And I loved it because, like theatre, it allowed me to tell stories. I think sharing stories, in any format, is the best way to bring people together. And we could all use more of that.
