West Virginia sophomore Oscar Tshiebwe announced his decision to transfer to the University of Kentucky on Sunday, and Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins expressed his displeasure at 'outside influences' playing in to his decision to leave.
Oscar Tshiebwe:West Virginia transfer commits to Kentucky basketball
“I think it’s the world we live in,” Huggins said on the latest edition of 'The Bob Huggins Show.' “It’s better to steal than it is to work and earn things. It’s take the easy way out, and I think there were some people involved who saw where they could benefit, maybe profit, and worked very diligently at trying to get him out.”
Tshiebwe averaged 11.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a freshman last season. He was averaging 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds through 10 games this season before his decision to transfer.
West Virginia is 9-4 this season, and 2-3 in the Big 12. Kentucky is 4-6 and 3-0 in the Southeastern Conference after defeating Florida on Saturday.
