Two of the three suspects charged in connection to the murder of a 9-year-old girl in Silverton were arrested when they were involved in a violent car crash on Tuesday.The first person to be arrested was 25-year-old Qasseem Dixon. He is charged with the aggravated murder of Barton-Pickens. He is also facing a charge of having weapons under disability.Investigators said Dixon and 27-year-old Ryan Brown, who was arrested Thursday, drove to Silverton and opened fire at the home on Plainfield Road, killing 9-year-old Barton-Pickens.A third suspect, Demario Williams, 22, has also been arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. The sheriff's office said Williams was with Dixon when they were located using drone technology. After a short pursuit and crash, both were arrested. Another driver involved in the crash suffered minor injuries but is expected to be OK.On Thursday, WLWT spoke with an innocent victim who was caught in the middle of that crash.Kimberly Springer was on her way to church on July 11 when her life took a strange turn that led to the capture of two suspects linked to a high-profile murder case."I am blessed that I walked away from that, the damage that it did to my car," Springer said.Springer was driving along Galbreth, and when she crossed the intersection at Daly, all she can remember is a car smashing into her."It happened so fast I saw something in my vision. I thought it was a shadow, but it spun me around in the middle of the street," Springer said.Springer is an elder at Third Presbyterian Church. She also works to fight crime in the neighborhood as a board member of the community council.Springer told WLWT she is not sure how long she will have to remain in the hospital, but she is grateful that she survived the crash.
