7-year-old recovering after Avondale shooting


Taylor Carr's grandmother says time just stood still.“As they were coming in. That’s when the shots came. I ran out. She was already coming towards me.. I went to check her and realized that she had blood on her shirt.” 7-Year-old Taylor Carr is recovering after being shot overnight at an Avondale apartment complex. Her Grandmother says doctors are optimistic.“She is doing better. she is talking.. she was able to get up and walk today.. ” From behind her apartment door, the woman did not want to be identified, but recounts the horrific moments when gunfire erupted.“her and the other kids were playing… it was getting late it was time for her to come in.”With 6 or 7 children playing in the Cresent Apartment's courtyard, Police say a stray bullet from a cross-fire struck Taylor in her stomach.“I wrapped her up with a towel and held the wound tight until rescue came.” Vice-Mayor Jan Michelle Lemon Kearny and community activist arrived on scene voicing concern. "it's gonna take all of us it's gonna take all of us is no one person issue is gonna take this is all of our problem. No matter where you Republican, Democrat, black or white, what religion you're it's gonna take all of us to wrap our heads around this situation. You know, it's not a one person problem. We all got to get involved. Lemon-Kearny said.We know someone knows something. And you know, we can protect them. It can they can be anonymous, but we need the community to speak up.
