Sheriff: Scott County deputy killed after being shot during traffic stop

WELL, MIKE AND SHERRI, WE DID JUST RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM THE CITY OF REDDING THAT THE SCENE HERE ON EAST VINE IS SAFE AND SECURE, BUT OFFICERS WILL REMAIN HERE ON THE SCENE TO INVESTIGATE WHAT EXACTLY TOOK PLACE. WE DID RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM THE HAMILTON COUNTY DISPATCHER WHO BELIEVED THE BANK ROBBERY THAT PLACE ON BENSON STREET IN THE BRIDAL DISTRICT IN REDDING IS RELATED TO THIS SWAT THAT TOOK PLACE HERE AT A HOME ON EAST VINE STREET. WE’RE TOLD AROUND 315 THIS AFTERNOON THAT PEOPLE HEARD A GUNSHOT COMING FROM HOME HERE. AND THAT’S WHEN KPD AND THE WYOMING POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE REDDING POLICE DEPARTMENT SURROUNDED A HOME ON EAST VINE STREET. ANOTHER AGGRAVATED HOMICIDE CHARGE WAS DROPPED AS WELL AS AN OVERNIGHT CHARGE AND DRIVING UNDER AN OBVIOUS SUSPENSION. Sheriff: Scott County deputy killed after being shot during traffic stop
A Scott County sheriff's deputy was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Monday afternoon, Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton announced Monday night.The deputy has been identified as Caleb Conley. According to the sheriff, Conley was shot during a traffic stop at approximately 4:48 p.m. on I-75 southbound in Georgetown.Officials said the suspect fled the scene after the shooting. Police said the suspect is in custody and there is no threat to the public at this time. Police have not released the name of the suspect.Conley leaves behind a wife and small children, as well his parents, according to the sheriff.Below is a photo of Conley from the Scott County Sheriff's Office.Cameras outside UK Hospital on Monday night captured a long procession of law enforcement vehicles.The sheriff said Conley has been with the department for four years. A Scott County sheriff's deputy was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Monday afternoon, Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton announced Monday night.
The deputy has been identified as Caleb Conley.
According to the sheriff, Conley was shot during a traffic stop at approximately 4:48 p.m. on I-75 southbound in Georgetown.
