Cincinnati Reds fans love seeing reunions of the 1990 world champion team, so they enjoyed a photo that included Nasty Boys Rob Dibble, Randy Myers and Norm Charlton with Chris Sabo and National Baseball Hall of Famer Barry Larkin that Dibble tweeted Saturday.
But why were former Major League Baseball stars Miguel Tejada, Felix Hernandez and Adrian Beltre with the former Reds stars at Great American Ball Park on Friday night?
Earlier tweets from Baseball United President and CEO Kash Shaikh indicate that Hernandez and Beltre were in Cincinnati, along with Elvis Andrus and others, for the first-ever Baseball United owners meeting Thursday and Friday at the Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown.
Last week, Baseball United, the first-ever professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, announced the formation of its inaugural player pool. Its Dubai Showcase is scheduled for November, and the league's first full season is expected in the fall of 2024.
Larkin, Hernandez, Beltre, Andrus and Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera are Baseball United co-owners.
