A second starter from the 2022-23 University of Cincinnati basketball team will return as Mika Adams-Woods announced via Instagram he'll be a Bearcat for a fifth year. Because of the coronavirus in the 2020 season, all college players on rosters have an extra year of eligibility.
The Instagram story featured several of his highlights and was labeled "Last one, prove'em wrong 3."
Adams-Woods wears No. 3 and has 104 starts under his belt as a Bearcat including all 36 games this season. Adams-Woods averaged 9.1 points per game, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds this past campaign with a high of 20 points against Temple in the American Athletic Conference tournament. Adams-Woods scored in double figures 18 times. He made 43% of his field goals, 36.6% of his 3-point shots and 83.7% of his free throws.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard from Syracuse, New York averaged 8.6 points as a junior under coach Wes Miller and had a career-high game of 21 against East Carolina.
He played his freshman and sophomore seasons under John Brannen, averaging 5 and 8.6 points, respectively. He's at 82.5% from the free throw line for his career and 32.7% on 3-pointers.
Adams-Woods joins Ody Oguama as a returning starter coming back for another season. Viktor Lakhin is set to return as a redshirt sophomore. The Bearcats continue to be active in the portal, adding Temple center Jamille Reynolds, hosting Hofstra guard Aaron Estrada and holding a Zoom call with Oklahoma State big man Moussa Cisse.
