The Teak restaurant group is opening a third Asian food location in Loveland.
Teak Loveland will offer the same menu of sushi and Thai cuisine choices as its sister restaurants, Teak OTR and Rosewood in Oakley, beginning sometime in May at 119 S. Second St. in Loveland.
But the popular restaurant is not the only new business Loveland, a city of 13,000 residents about 15 miles northeast of Cincinnati, is welcoming.

A slew of others has opened, expanded or plan to open in Loveland, which runs along the Little Miami River and is known for its historic downtown and for being a hub on the Little Miami Scenic Trail.
“We are thrilled to have these businesses as part of the Loveland family and thank them for their investment in our community,” Eva Wispy, the city’s zoning and economic development specialist, said.
Here’s what you need to know about Teak Loveland and two other businesses opening soon in the city.
Teak Loveland
Owner Chanaka De Lanerolle said Teak first opened a restaurant in Mount Adams in 1999, then decided the food scene had shifted and opened restaurants in Over-the-Rhine and Oakley.
Like the menus at Teak OTR and Rosewood, selections at Teak Loveland will include 10 appetizers, 11 house specialties, four fried rice options, three noodle dishes including pad Thai and lad na, five stir fry varieties, 10 curry dishes and more than seven dozen sushi choices.

Also, “Teak and Rosewood offer many vegetarian and vegan options for modern taste buds," De Lanerolle said.
"We want to make sure that we have something for everyone when they come to dine with us in Loveland.”
Pet Wants Loveland
Pet Wants Loveland, a franchise that sells pet food with no wheat, corn, soy, sugar, fillers or artificial colors, is expected to open at 110 S. Second St. early in May.
Owner Marc Drapp already operates a Pet Wants store in Hamilton and would like to eventually own three or four of the stores.
"I’ve been a customer of Pet Wants for five years, so I understand the benefit of the food," Drapp said in a recent interview with 1851 Franchise Magazine.
"A few of our dogs had irritable bowels and sensitive stomachs, and it’s gone away since I started using the Pet Wants product."
Better Blend
Better Blend healthy smoothies and smoothie bowls has announced plans to move into the Brown Building at Jackson Street Market on West Loveland Avenue, by the Loveland bike trail.
Franchisee Brent Hill also will be opening a location in Mason this year.
Better Blend smoothies and bowls come in a variety of flavors ranging from blueberry cake donut to peanut butter pie. But they all start with a base of protein, organic greens, oat powder, flax seed and vitamins.
There already are Better Blends in Downtown Cincinnati, Clifton Heights and Florence.
The Better Blend website says more locations are planned for the Oakley/Hyde Park area, West Chester Township, Fort Mitchell and Highland Heights.
These new and expanded businesses in Loveland are open now:
- Premier Surgical Institute at 1303 Mattec Drive in Loveland’s Commerce Park, a sister company to Premier Pain Treatment Institute at 1301 Mattec Drive, has expanded at 1303 Mattec Drive to accommodate ambulatory services.
- Top Dog Grooming Spa at 401 Loveland Madeira Road.
- Tara's Pet Boutique at 685 Loveland Madeira Road. It specializes in grooming and has locations in Goshen Township and Mason.
- The Quilter's Studio of Loveland at 535 W. Loveland Ave. built a 2,102-square-foot addition to its existing 6,000-square-foot retail store and studio, which stocks more than 5,000 bolts of fabric.
- Self Care Counseling at 422 W. Loveland Ave.
