When Kings Island opens for the season April 15, there will be a new executive chef and a new restaurant coming to the Mason amusement park.
This spring, Kings Island will add Grain & Grill, a fast-casual restaurant on International Street next to Starbucks. Its menu will feature Eastern European and Mediterranean flavors, including grilled and rotisserie meats like Moroccan chicken, glazed pork shoulder and shrimp skewers. Select menu items will be included on the park's dining plans.
The restaurant will feature indoor dining with views of the Royal Fountain.

Kings Island also announced Tuesday that Joseph Perez will become the park's new executive chef. According to a release, Perez recently served as the executive chef at Ameristar Casino and Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.
The previous executive chef at Kings Island, James Major, is now the regional chef for the amusement park's parent company, Cedar Fair Entertainment. He will oversee multiple parks and will continue to be involved with the food and beverage program at Kings Island.

Kings Island previously announced Adventure Port, a new themed area opening this summer, that will feature two new family rides and enhanced theming for Adventure Express, the family-friendly mine train roller coaster. Adventure Port will also have Enrique's quick service restaurant and the portside restaurant The Mercado.
