The Simon Kenton Pioneers entered the Eighth Region semifinals looking to beat Collins for the first time this season in three tries. But it wasn't meant to be for Travis Krohman, Gabe Dynes and company. It was a one-point game after eight minutes, but Collins opened the lead up to 11 at halftime and after three quarters.
With just less than two minutes remaining, Krohman made a three-pointer to cut it to a 46-40 deficit, but the Titans responded with six straight points to put the game away. In three games against the Pioneers this season, Titans leading scorer Kenyon Goodin scored 77 points on 80% shooting.
Simon Kenton bids farewell to a four-man senior class: Josh Bowling, Logan Crisp, Isaac Gabbard, and Gabe Dynes, who is committed to Youngstown State.
KHSAA 10th Region Semifinal

Campbell County (22-12): Hamilton 10 4 24, Weinel 6 0 12, Combs 5 1 11, Gross 4 0 10, Jackson 1 2 4, Hill 1 1 3, Smith 1 0 3. Totals: 28 8 67.

Halftime: MC 37-26. 3-pointers: CC 3 (Gross 2, Smith), MC 5 (Hamilton, McClanahan).
Campbell County entered Monday night's 10th Region semifinal on a seven-game winning streak, but were unable to extend their streak against region top dogs Mason County. Connor Weinel scored the first four points for the Camels to keep the game close, but the Royals led wire-to-wire even as their lead grew and shrunk like an accordion.
A 10-point lead at halftime turned into four points as Campbell County went on a 10-4 run, then grew back to nine after Carter McClanahan made two three-pointers. The Camels got within seven late in the game, but a K.G. Walton basket and free throw gave the Royals an insurmountable lead with just over a minute left.
Campbell County graduates three seniors: Keegan Hill, Jake Gross, and Ayden Hamilton, who is the school's all-time leading scorer.
