Wind advisory Thursday, cold front bringing snow showers

More rain and gusty winds are in store for Greater Cincinnati on Thursday.

According to a wind advisory in place from noon to 7 p.m. from the National Weather Service, southwest winds of 15-25 mph with gusts around 45 mph are expected. These winds could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may come as a result.

The strongest winds will occur along and just behind a passage of a cold front, between 3-7 p.m. The weather service is advising to secure outdoor objects and to use caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

The cold front Thursday will move east across the region this afternoon into the evening, and strong or perhaps severe thunderstorms are expected to form along the front. Strong or perhaps severe wind gusts will be possible in the more robust showers and storms, the weather service said, especially north of the Ohio River.
