Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon became the fifth Cincinnati Bengals player to surpass 5,000 career rushing yards during the scoring drive to open Sunday's Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers.
The nine-play, 90-yard drive concluded with Mixon's 2-yard touchdown run.
Later in the game, Mixon became the first player in Bengals' franchise history with five touchdowns in one game.
Mixon entered Sunday's game with 4,996 rushing yards in 74 NFL games over six seasons.
The four other players in Bengals' history with more than 5,000 career rushing yards are Corey Dillon, James Brooks, Rudi Johnson and Pete Johnson.
Mixon had a 29-yard run later in the first quarter. He added his second and third touchdowns of the game during the second quarter, and his fourth and fifth TDs of the game during the third quarter.
