MOUNT HEALTHY, Ohio – Two people are dead after a SWAT team was dispatched to an apartment complex on Sunday afternoon, Mount Healthy Police Chief Vincent Demasi said.
The dead are a man in his 40s and his 6-year-old daughter, Demasi told Enquirer Media partner Fox 19.
Mount Healthy police were called to a custody dispute at Lake of the Woods apartments when officers heard shots fired from inside the home, the chief said.
According to Demasi, a SWAT team was dispatched to the location to try to communicate with those inside the apartment, treating it as a hostage situation.
Police did not release any other information Sunday night.
SWAT personnel are no longer on scene. Police officers including some from Mount Healthy, North College Hill and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, were still at the complex FOX19 confirmed. The Mount Healthy Police Department is conducting the investigation.
