The competition has two divisions: amateur and semi-professional.
For the amateur division, finalists will have five-minute sets. If they go over their allotted time slot, it will count against them. Amateur acts must be clean enough for television, and the competitors are permitted to use repeated material in their sets.
The winner of the amateur division will receive a trophy, a premium spot at Brew Ha-Ha and an MC week at Go Bananas.
For the semi-professional division, finalists have seven-minute sets. If they go over, it will count against them. But unlike the amateur division, semi-professional finalists may not use repeated material.
The winner of the semi-professional division will receive a trophy, a spot on the Tunnel Stage at Brew Ha-Ha and a feature week at Go Bananas.
The audience and votes from secret judges determine the winners.
The competition begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Doors open at 6:30, and the seating is first come, first serve. Tickets are $10. According to its website, the club advises attendees to purchase tickets in advance, as the show will sell out quickly.
This show is R-rated and for individuals 18 and older.
