C.J. Wilcher helps last-place Nebraska upset Ohio State Buckeyes

Nebraska Cornhuskers guard C.J. Wilcher (0) drives to the basket as Ohio State Buckeyes guard Jimmy Sotos (1) defends during the first half at Value City Arena.

The Ohio State Buckeyes lost to Xavier at Cintas Center earlier this season. And on Tuesday night, it was a former XU Musketeer who played a part in handing OSU a loss.

C.J. Wilcher, who played in 15 games as a freshman at Xavier before transferring to Nebraska, scored 15 points off the bench to help the Cornhuskers to a 78-70 upset of the No. 23 Buckeyes in Columbus.

Wilcher finished the gam6-of-11 - including 3-of-5 from 3-point range - with two rebounds and a steal. He scored 13 in an 87-79 overtime loss to OSU in January.

Wilcher entered averaging 8.0 points in 24.3 minutes per game this season. He averaged 3.3 points per game during his season at Xavier.

Nebraska's win was just its third in 19 games in Big Ten play. OSU is 11-7 in the conference, 18-9 overall.
