Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy hired Jeff Cargile Sr. as its head football coach, according to a school press release.
Last year, Cargile served as co-defensive coordinator for Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy. Before his position at CCPA, he spent 14 years at Taft High School, the last five years being the varsity head coach.

Each year under his leadership, the Taft football program was named league champions and made the playoffs. Additionally, he led Taft to a playoff win in 2019, the first playoff win since 1993 for the Cincinnati Public School District. His overall record while head coach at Taft was 38 -12.
Before coaching at Taft High School, Cargile served as a football coach for various high schools throughout the Cincinnati area. In addition, he has served as a defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, defensive backs coach, running backs coach, and linebackers coach.
He was born and raised in Cincinnati, attended Roger Bacon High School, and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. After high school, he attended college at The Ohio State University, where he was a three-year varsity letter winner.

Danielle Goodwin, interim athletic director at CCPA, said of the hiring, “Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy and the athletic department are very confident and excited with this hire. We are eager to continue the winning ways of our football program and sustain a winning program.”
