NBA star Chris Paul sent Cincinnati Bengals rookie receiver Ja'Marr Chase - named last Friday as the 2021 Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year - a signed jersey.
The Phoenix Suns' official Twitter account shared a photo of Chase with the jersey:
Paul tweeted last month after the Bengals' first playoff win in 31 years that he needed a Chase jersey. Days later, he tweeted a photo of his new jersey before the Bengals' Divisional Round win against the Titans in Nashville.
Paul, who has said he's a Dallas Cowboys fan, is in his second season with the Suns and 17th in the NBA.
During NBC Sports' Super Bowl 56 conference call Monday, Collinsworth - who will call Sunday's Rams-Bengals Super Bowl for NBC along with former Cincinnati Reds radio play-by-play broadcaster Al Michaels - said "Chase, in my estimation, is already the best receiver that I've ever seen play with a Cincinnati Bengals uniform on, and I don't say that lightly."
Chase broke Chad Ochocinco's Bengals' single-season receiving yardage record of 1,440 (set in 2007) and finished with 1,455 in his first NFL season. His 266 receiving yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17 were the most in a game by a rookie in NFL history.
Chase has 20 catches for 279 yards with one touchdown in the Bengals' three playoff games.
The Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith wrote last week about why Chase can't be stopped.
