The Southwest Local School District is celebrating the Cincinnati Bengals as they head to the Super Bowl by giving a challenge to its students and staff members.Defensive end Sam Hubbard has launched The Sam Hubbard Foundation, which aims to combat food insecurities in southwest Ohio.A few school districts, including Cincinnati Public Schools, have already announced that classes will be canceled on the Monday after the Super Bowl, and now, students at Southwest Local Schools want a chance to have class canceled, too.However, in order to get school canceled on Feb. 14, school leaders have proposed a challenge. Students and staff members must raise $9,400 by Friday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. for The Sam Hubbard Foundation. School leaders said if each student and staff member donates $2, they can reach that goal.If the goal is reached, the day after Super Bowl will be a calamity day, according to school officials.
