Xavier modifies entrance policy for home basketball games

Xavier Musketeers fans cheer as Providence Friars guard Al Durham (1) hits a free throw in the second half of the NCAA men's basketball game, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at Cintas Center in Cincinnati. Providence Friars defeated Xavier Musketeers 65-62.

Xavier University has modified its COVID-19 entrance policy for Cintas Center, the school announced in a Monday press release.

Fans will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result to attend home games.

"With the decline of COVID cases on Xavier University’s campus and in Hamilton County, Xavier has announced that the fan entry policy instituted previously for Cintas Center has been modified," the school said.

"Guests entering Cintas Center will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative test for entry.  Fans will still be required to wear a mask throughout the duration of the event, unless actively eating or drinking."

Xavier's previous policy was put in place during the first week of January.
