Russell Wilson gives Cincinnati shoutout, picks Bengals over Titans

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (3) throws a deep pass in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 1 game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Cincinnati Bengals at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019. The Bengals lost 21-20 in the season opener.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who was born in Cincinnati, gave his birthplace a shoutout and picked the Cincinnati Bengals over the Tennessee Titans during his appearance in the fourth quarter of ESPN's "Manningcast" of the NFC playoff game Monday night between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams.

Peyton Manning asked Wilson for his Bengals-Titans pick.

"We played the Titans earlier in the year, and I think Derrick Henry's coming back," Wilson replied. "It's hard to tackle him. But there's something going on up there in Cincinnati. I'm from the 'Nasty 'Nati' - I'm from Cincinnati, I was born there, born at Christ Hospital - so I may have to go with them. I think it may be the Bengals' year of really getting going. I don't know if they're gonna win it all. But I think they've got a chance with Joe Burrow and what he's doing. So I'm gonna take the Bengals there."

"I like it. I like it," Peyton answered.

Peyton and Eli Manning spoke during ESPN's "Manningcast" Jan. 3 about how hot Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been as of late, and how Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he didn't watch the Bengals' Week 17 win against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bengals and UC Bearcats radio play-by-play announcer Dan Hoard tweeted earlier this month that he believes former Moeller High School standout and National Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. - inducted in 2014 into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame - would be the person to do an MLB "Manningcast."
