A man was rescued from an apartment fire in North Avondale on Monday evening.The fire happened in the 4000 block of Reading Road just after 5 p.m. Around 40 firefighters responded to the scene.Fire officials at the scene told WLWT that a man was cooking on a stove in his apartment and wanted to go to someone's house nearby. He left the food cooking on the stove, as he said he was expected to be back soon.The man was out of the apartment longer than anticipated, fire officials said. Fire officials were able to bring the fire under control in about 15 minutes.The damage was mainly contained to the man's apartment. They were also able to rescue a man trapped inside the apartment.The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental. Damages are estimated to be around $65,700.One person has been displaced from the fire, according to Cincinnati fire officials.
