A 1-year-old boy is being reunited with his father after he was found safe following a days-long search. His father, Chris Michael, confirmed to WLWT that his son, one-year-old Elijah Michael, has been found safe and he is on his way to pick up his son from the police station.Elijah went missing Tuesday when he was taken by his mother, Ivana Dasilva, who does not have legal custody.Chris told WLWT he has a protection order against Dasilva and she is in poor mental health.Michael said his 70-year-old grandmother was watching Elijah on Tuesday afternoon while he was at work."She tried to call me two or three times, and I never got the message,” Michael said. “She figured it was OK and it was his mom. She didn't know any different."Unaware of the protection order against Dasilva, Michael said his grandmother let the boy go with his mother.When he found out what happened, Michael said his heart dropped.“My heart was in my stomach,” he said. “Instantly, I got in my car so fast and drove to where I thought they could be."Michael has had full custody of Elijah for more than a year, and a protection order for three. He said the last time he had spoken to Dasilva was around Christmas, and she hadn’t seen her son in nearly eight months."She's been in and out of jail,” Michael said. “She's actually attacked me multiple times. She's been in and out of jail for domestic violence. Has multiple personality disorder and a couple of other mental illnesses."Michael hopes the police will deal with Dasilva’s actions later.
