The AFC North champion Cincinnati Bengals rallied from a 28-17 halftime deficit behind huge games from quarterback Joe Burrow and rookie receiver Ja'Marr Chase to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs, 34-31, in a Week 17 showdown between teams that have clinched playoff berths at Paul Brown Stadium.
Cincinnati improved to 10-6 this season. The Bengals' record in 2019 was 2-14. in 2020, they were 4-11-1.
Burrow's effort broke a pair of Bengals single-season passing records established by Andy Dalton in 2013. Chase's huge game - 11 catches for 266 yards and three touchdowns - gave him 1,429 receiving yards for the season, third most in Bengals' history behind a pair of seasons by Chad Johnson.
There was concern, however, about Burrow after he limped off the field during the game's final minute. He had had the name ripped off the back of his jersey earlier in the day.
