Here are prominent concerts, listed by date, that you should pencil into your social calendar in the new year.
Dillon Francis with Yung Gravy

About the artist: A popular disc jockey who debuted in 2010 with a bass-filled, speaker-tearing style of music, Francis is a top 10 DJ in the United States and top 50 DJ worldwide, according to DJrankings.org. Francis, who commonly collaborates with big names such as DJ Snake, Skrillex, Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, Kygo, and more, has released popular tracks such as: "Get Low," "Without You," and "What's Your Name."
Evanescence with Halestorm
When: Jan 14 (rescheduled from Dec. 12)

About the artist: Formed in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody, Evanescence first exploded in 2003. With Lee belting out a passionate "Wake me up inside" chorus on "Bring Me to Life," which reached No. 5 on Billboard's American Hot 100 List, Evanescence has enjoyed mainstream popularity. The band's album "Fallen," which also featured the popular hit "My Immortal," spent 43 weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Fairmount Girls

About the artist: Hometown favorite Fairmount Girls, an all-girls band born and raised in Mill Creek who boast an award for Cincinnati Entertainment Awards' Indie Artist of the Year, will perform a free concert in Over-The-Rhine. The indie band has performed at CMJ Festival, LadyFest Dayton and Columbus, and MidPoint Music Festival. The group has also opened for acts such as: The White Stripes, Deerhoof, Elfpower, Jonathon Richmond, and more.
Travis Porter with Lil Scrappy, J Young MDK, and Yung Joc

Music genre: Hip-hop
About the artist: With a star-studded cast of hip-hop artists who rose to prominence in the '00s, this show hosted at Bogart's will be a hot attraction. Travis Porter, a hip-hop trio from Atlanta exploded onto the scene in 2010 with hits such as "Make it Rain," "Bring it Back," and "Ayy Ladies." Lil Scrappy and Yung Joc, similarly made their names throughout the' 00s with big hits such as "No Problem" (Lil Scrappy) and "It's Going Down" (Yung Joc).
Alice Cooper

About the artist: A Detroit native whose career spans 50 years, Cooper's recognizable raspy voice has dazzled audiences for decades with melodies such as "School's Out," "I'm Eighteen," "Elected," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy."
Wale

About the artist: Wale will visit Cincinnati as part of his upcoming "Under A Blue Moon" tour. The Washington, D.C., native has released six studio albums. His first album "Attention Deficit" was met with positive acclaim and his third album "The Gifted" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The rapper released a second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 in 2015 titled "About Nothing."
Gaelic Storm

Music genre: Celtic, Celtic rock
About the artist: Blending traditional Irish, Scottish and Celtic music with the sounds of modern rock, Gaelic Storm was founded in Santa Monica, California, in 1996. The band gained notoriety as the band that performed in the 1997 movie "Titanic" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The band has released 13 albums in total and currently has five members with 11 past members.
Dylan Scott

About the artist: A Louisiana native, Scott's first No. 1 hit "My Girl" came in the summer of 2016 and later became a platinum record. His self-titled debut album began at No. 5 on the Top Country Album chart in 2016.
Papa Roach with Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves

About the artist: Known for screaming "cut my life into pieces" on the popular hit "Last Resort," Papa Roach, which consists of a group of original members from Vacaville, California, has been part of the alternative scene since 1993. The music video for "Last Resort," earned the band a nomination for "Best new artist in a video" at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The group's appearance in Cincinnati is a part of its "Kill the Noise" tour.
Elle King

About the artist: King, the daughter of actor Rob Schneider, burst onto the music scene in 2014 with "Ex's and Oh's," a song that became the lead single of her debut album "Love Stuff." The song also received two nominations at the 58th Grammy Awards. King has released two studio albums and has enjoyed success in music and television.
Greta Van Fleet

About the artist: Known for a Led Zeppelin-like sound, this Michigan-born post-millennial rock group has enjoyed heightened popularity over the past few years thanks to an appearance on Saturday Night Live and a TikTok trend that blew up during the pandemic. The group will visit Cincinnati as part of their "Dreams in Gold" tour.
Jack White

About the artist: One half of the popular band The White Stripes, which rose to the rock scene in the early '00s, Detroit native Jack White has found success in a number of different bands he's participated in. Justin Bieber

Olivia Rodrigo with Gracie Abrams

About the artist: At just 18 years old, Rodrigo has a record deal, seven Grammy nominations and global success from her debut album, "Sour." Her debut single "Driver's License" was released in 2021, topping many worldwide charts, before singles such as "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U" prompted an album release. Rodrigo also gained notoriety after she visited the White House urging young people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Haim

About the artist: Composed of three sisters from California, Haim began in 2007 and became a full-time band in 2012. The band released "Forever," an extended play that received critical acclaim at the South by Southwest Festival in 2012 and shortly after inked a management deal with Jay-Z Roc Nation. Haim, which means "life" in Hebrew, has released three albums and received Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance.
Styx and REO Speedwagon with Loverboy

About the artist: Popular classic rock bands Styx, REO Speedwagon and Loverboy are synonymous with the late '70s and early '80s versions of hard rock still recognizable today. Styx had eight songs crack the Billboard Top 100, REO Speedwagon had two classics in the top 40, and Loverboy's "Turn Me Loose" and "Working For The Weekend" remain popular arena rock songs still heard today.
Matchbox Twenty with the Wallflowers

About the artist: Led by well-known singer Rob Thomas, Matchbox Twenty became popular when debut album "Yourself or someone like you" hit stores in 1996. The Beach Boys were one of the most successful bands of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide.
Twenty One Pilots

About the artist: Ohio-born Twenty One Pilots are a duo consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. The duo has released six studio albums and became popular for hit singles "Stressed Out" and "Ride." They'll perform in Cincinnati as part of "The Icy" tour.
