A man has died after being hospitalized following an apartment fire in University Heights on Christmas Eve.The two-alarm fire happened in the 3000 block of Marshall Avenue at around 8:10 a.m. Friday. Cincinnati Fire and FMS officials said one person who was taken to the hospital had serious injuries.The victim, identified as Aaron Battersby, 57, died from his injuries following the fire. A firefighter was also able to rescue a cat by providing it with oxygen.Crews said the fire was contained to the original apartment but there is heavy smoke damage across the entire top floor and a few apartments below the fire. Damages are expected to be around $150,000.
