The Kansas City Chiefs - the Cincinnati Bengals' scheduled Week 17 opponent Jan. 2 at Paul Brown Stadium - lost running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to a collarbone injury during Sunday's Week 16 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Edwards-Helaire was ruled out for the rest of the game during the third quarter.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported via Twitter that X-rays were negative, and an MRI Monday will determine the severity of the injury:
Edwards-Helaire's availability against the Bengals is not yet known.
Edwards-Helaire entered Sunday's game with just 490 rushing yards on 110 carries with 125 receiving yards on 18 catches, having played in just nine games this season. He had 803 rushing yards and 297 receiving yards last season, his first with the Chiefs.
Nonetheless, the Chiefs led the Steelers, 30-3, through three quarters.
Edwards-Helaire was an LSU teammate of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who set a franchise record Sunday with 525 passing yards.
