Tre Scott scores first NBA points for Cleveland Cavaliers

Tre Scott of the Cleveland Cavaliers is interviewed by ESPN reporter Katie George before the game against the Phoenix Suns during the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League on August 16, 2021 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tre Scott, a former University of Cincinnati Bearcats standout forward, scored his first NBA points Sunday during the fourth quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers' 144-99 win against the Toronto Raptors.

Scott finished the game with six points on 3-of-6 from the field with two rebounds, one steal and one block in nine minutes of action.

The Cavs called up Scott from the NBA G League's Cleveland Charge last week after he signed a 10-day deal with the team. He is among nine players from UC, Xavier or a Greater Cincinnati high school on NBA rosters.

Scott's UC teammate, Jarron Cumberland, signed a 10-day contract Sunday with the Portland Trail Blazers via the NBA's Hardship Exception after being named the MVP of last week's NBA G League Winter Showcase.
