Rain arrives as Santa heads to Cincy
Rain chances increase after sunset. Temperatures remain mild for days as more rain moves in Christmas Day.
stuff. A lot of folks going to be watching movies probably over the holiday I'd say. So probably there's a lot of, a lot of opportunity to do that and as you said, you're gonna have to spend time, you know, planning accordingly because rain is going to be more the trend here. Yeah, absolutely. So I think it's going to be, you know, a good weekend to be inside watching some of those christmas movies. Yeah, get cozy, everything like that. And I have the fire going the entire time he might be on. I don't know if it's going to be mild here for a little while. So starting today, temperatures are already in the forties and we'll stay mild throughout the next week, essentially rainy pattern starting today as well. So most of that rain is going to kick in here tonight and tomorrow looks to be a pretty soggy day. In fact the soggy ist of the entire weekend and we could even hear some thunder tomorrow for some of us, not everybody has that potential, but some do. And also near record temperatures still looking to be the trend for christmas day so far this morning temperatures are running about 20 degrees warmer compared to where we were this time yesterday, 25 degrees warmer in Louisville right now. So yes, a very mild start this morning. That leaves us with temperatures in the forties here, but also we are still dry outside. So good news if you have plans to maybe get some exercise in early this morning. I think we are going to stay dry for quite some time. If you're traveling across the region were dry from here to Chicago here to Indi here to Lexington Louisville down into eastern Kentucky and here towards Cleveland as well. We'll stay dry here for a couple more hours I think throughout most of this morning we'll stay dry and even into a lot of this afternoon, mostly dry with just that potential for some light rain, some drizzle this afternoon with better rain chances later on this evening, 45 right now in Cincinnati, we still have that south wind bringing in all that warm air moving in around eight MPH. So a little bit breezy This morning will stay breezy throughout today as well. Winds gusting up to 25 mph will be a possibility. And again, as we get into this afternoon we might have a spotty shower here or there. Some light drizzle will be a possibility. But I think most of our rain chances hold off until after the sun sets 8 30 tonight and you can see some spotty showers across the area. These are very light showers that are going to move through and will continue into the overnight, becoming more widespread here later on tonight. Keep this in mind if you're heading out to midnight mass, you'll need that raincoat and then tomorrow morning waking up very early and we've got rain around much of greater Cincinnati. So widespread rainfall. First thing christmas morning continues into the afternoon and we'll start to dry out later tomorrow evening. This is what I'm talking about with that thunder potential at times tomorrow afternoon, we might hear some rumbles of thunder throughout areas of Cincinnati closer to I 70. So if you're in Oxford Springboro or areas just close here to the I 70 corridor, that's where we could start to hear some thunder rolling through. Not a great chance but still there is that potential. We're drying out by christmas eve or christmas night rather and we'll stay dry for a lot of sunday Temperature wise today will reach into the upper 50s tomorrow we're topping out around 64 53 by sunday tomorrow is going to be a weather impact day more on the way as well, Calling we've got a weather impact day for Tuesday and Wednesday thursday though will start to cool off a little bit and so far that trend heading into New Year's Eve. Has this dry by friday back to you alright? Yeah
