SHARONVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) - Ten to fifteen thousand people are expected at the Sharonville Convention Center this weekend in hopes of finding a furry valentine.
My Furry Valentine is the largest pet adoption event in the area, bringing 25 local rescue and adoption agencies together.
750 to 900 animals, from dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, even some bunnies, are expected at the event.
Among the adoptable animals will be several cats rescued from a hoarding situation in Bethel last month.
Cat Cameron, Cat Program Manager at Clermont Animal Care Humane Society, says they have been working on rehabilitating the cats and she’s excited for them to find new homes.
The adoption event will run until 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are five dollars.
“I would say come in with an open mind. No preconceived notions about the animal you’re looking for, just look for the one that adopts you. The most lasting adoptions are the ones where the animal chooses you not you choosing the animal,” Cameron said. “Be prepared to be overwhelmed. There’s going to be a lot so hopefully you come with an open mind and an open heart and an open home.”
