UC’s game against TSU canceled due to COVID-19

Cincinnati head coach Wes Miller motions to his team during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game against Illinois Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, in Kansas City, Mo.

COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of a University of Cincinnati men's basketball game for the first time this season.

Officials within the university's athletic department confirmed to The Enquirer on Friday afternoon that its men's basketball game against Texas Southern scheduled for Saturday at Fifth Third Arena has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues within the Tigers program.

Cincinnati, which had seven games either postponed or canceled last season due to the coronavirus pandemic, had not found a replacement opponent as of press time Friday.

UC had a 25-day layoff during the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19.
