Greater Cincinnati at risk for severe storms, possible tornadoes this weekend


Rain and a chance of severe storms are on the docket Friday and Saturday around Greater Cincinnati, as temperatures continue to warm around the region. 

The National Weather Service is warning the tri-state area around Cincinnati is at slight risk for scattered storms with severe storms possible beginning at 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday. 

Damaging straight-line wind is the main threat, but a tornado or two is also possible. 

As of 8:35 a.m. Friday, the latest data from the NWS shows a northward shift in the severe weather threat for Friday night. The Cincinnati area remains in the "slight" risk category, which Central and South Central Ohio are listed as in a "marginal" risk. Severe threats will shift toward the eastern half of the area Saturday morning.

No matter what level you are under, the NWS advises everyone to be weather aware and make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.
