Cincinnati's Mayor-elect Aftab Pureval graduated from Ohio State University and earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati.
But he's about to become a Harvard man – sort of.
Pureval, who was elected in November and will be sworn in Jan. 1, will spend three days this week at a seminar on transition for newly elected mayors, put on by the Harvard Kennedy School in collaboration with the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
Pureval is the first Asian-American mayor in Cincinnati history.
Mayors from cities with more than 75,000 people were invited to attend the seminar.
The program is billed as "a one-of-its kind program that offers practical advice and best practices from experts in public policy, media, the private sector, municipal governments and current and former mayors."
The seminar is expected to address the challenges of managing a city during the pandemic, leading during a crisis, economic development and keeping cities safe.
