Former Cincinnati Bearcat slugger Lance Durham to coach Kings baseball

Pending board approval the Kings Local School District and Kings High athletic director Eric Taylor have named 33-year-old Lance Durham as the new head baseball coach of the Knights.

According to a social media release Monday, Lance takes over the Knights after an extensive career in baseball as an athlete, coach and program leader. Durham spent the last two years as an assistant coach at Fairfield and has experience as the head coach of Purcell Marian as well as the hitting coach at the University of Cincinnati. 

Additionally, Durham is the founder and coach of the Durham Bulls, which is a select baseball program in Cincinnati. As a coach, Lance is exceptional at building relationships with his players, the release states. He has been instrumental in helping athletes reach their goals of playing college baseball. He is committed to the shill and leadership development of his players.

The Cincinnati native played baseball at the University of Cincinnati. He was then drafted and played six seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers organizations.
