Roy Rogers, a Western-themed fast-food chain named after the Cincinnati-born singer and actor, is returning to the area.
One Holland Corp. is partnering with the Roy Rogers chain to expand into the Greater Cincinnati area. The plan is to open 10 new locations over the next six years, in Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties in Ohio; Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Northern Kentucky and Dearborn County in Indiana.
Rogers was born in a tenement on Second Street in Cincinnati in 1911, where Riverfront Stadium was later constructed. The stadium, later named Cinergy Field, was home to the Reds and Bengals for 30 years. Rogers often joked that he was born on second base.
He later became a Western star, appearing in over 100 films, and numerous radio and TV episodes of "The Roy Rogers Show." Rogers died in 1998.

Rogers lent his name to the fast-food chain, which was founded by Big Boy franchisees as RoBee's House of Roast Beef in 1968. They were acquired by Marriott and later sold to Hardee's parent company, Imasco. The remaining nonfranchised Roy Rogers were converted into Hardee's restaurants.
The initial returning Roy Rogers location in Greater Cincinnati will be in Cleves in Hamilton County. With over 40 locations mainly on the East Coast, the fast-food chain is best known for its roast beef, chicken and burgers.
One Holland Corp. Restaurant Group is based in Taylor Mill and operates Skyline Chili, LaRosa's Family Pizzeria, First Watch, Greyhound Tavern and Dunkin restaurants.
"We couldn’t be happier to be back in the community and deliver new memories to the next generation of Royalists,” Gregg Koffler, Roy Rogers vice president of franchise sales, said in a release. “One Holland is the perfect partner to help us reach our goals of expansion and development in the area."
