Sure, there's plenty of restaurants around Greater Cincinnati, but is it a true "foodie" city? The Queen City is listed in the top 25 in the U.S., according to a new report from WalletHub.
The WalletHub report ranked Cincinnati 21st overall for "2021's Best Foodie Cities in America" and first in Ohio, looking at 29 "key indicators of foodie-friendliness" in 180 U.S. cities, including the cost of groceries, affordability, accessibility of high-quality restaurants and food festivals per capita.
One factor setting Cincinnati apart: a high ranking in the category of gourmet grocery stores per capita.
With an overall score of 70.77, Portland, Oregon was ranked as the best foodie city in the U.S, third overall in diversity, accessibility and quality, and 56th in affordability.

Cincinnati was just behind Houston, Texas, at 20th, and ahead of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at 22nd. Cincinnati's score was 57.04, coming in 23rd for affordability and 31st for diversity, accessibility and quality.
The next closest Ohio city to Cincinnati was Cleveland, ranked 54th overall. Columbus was ranked 60th.
