Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery, a former Mt. Healthy High School standout, suffered a knee injury during the Bears' win Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
The severity of the injury is not known, but multiple reports Monday indicated that it is not an ACL injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that it's believed to be a hyperextended knee that could force Montgomery to miss time.

Montgomery's 106-yard rushing effort against the Lions earned him a nomination for FedEx Ground Player of the Week honors.
The third-year running back, a third-round pick of the Bears in the 2019 NFL Draft, has rushed for 309 yards and three touchdowns, adding 49 receiving yards through the Bears' first four games. He had 79 total yards in a 20-17 win Sept. 19 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Montgomery is one of 20 NFL players from Greater Cincinnati high schools.
