it's kind of surreal, you know, like just thinking about it as a kid and then being able to come out here and go to the combine Senior Bowl uh just meeting NFL coaches, it's kind of been like a dream come true for me, honestly, we're out here playing football on air, you know, receivers that I've thrown with for the past four or five years, you know, I've done it at the combine, did the Senior Bowl, so um it was a little more comfortable just being at home. Like some people might say it's nerve nerve wracking, but I think like playing in the college football playoffs and stuff like that to me is a lot more nerve wracking than this, you know, like this is just, this is like practice is something I've done thousands of times before in my life. So growing up they'd ask like what you want to do when you're older people write down, I want to go to MLB or NBA or NFL and I would always say NFL and living it now, you know, my my brother that he wanted to go to the NBA, he's playing overseas professionally so he didn't quite make it, He's still professional. Um but yeah, hopefully I'll be the first one to make it, it's a blessing man, you know, I truly work for it, you know, I've seen working required hours, so it's no surprise to me, you know what I'm saying? Uh coming in in Cincinnati, you know, I wouldn't think like, yeah, I'm gonna be a top 10 pick. I just knew like I'm gonna go to the NFL and be able to accomplish my dreams and goals. But no, it's just a blessing to be in this position. I told the guys after practice this morning and I said there's a lot of people here, but it's not just because of these 89, 10, 11, 12, whatever, how many guys we got right here, it's because of everybody and what they've done and what they've created and and I do believe that we've got some great players around here today, but I think what those guys have done collectively has even given a chance to be better players and be recognized that much more. So this is still a team sport. Obviously those guys are out there on their own today, but I think what has really kind of transpired over the last three or four years, um, it's kind of showing right now.

Former University of Cincinnati safety and Mt. Healthy graduate Bryan Cook has been drafted with the 62nd overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft.Cook spent three years with the Bearcats, and totaled 124 tackles (78 solo, 46 assisted), 6.0 tackles for loss and two interceptions in his UC career.Cook's career season came this past year, when he totaled 96 tackles (57 solo, 39 assisted), 5.0 of which came for a loss, one sack and two interceptions.The Cincinnati native joins a Chiefs secondary that was part of a defense that held opponents to 6.7 yards per passing attempt and intercepted 15 balls.Cook is the third Bearcat off the board this draft, along with cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner, who was taken fourth overall by the New York Jets on Thursday, and wide receiver Alec Pierce, who was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round.
