Man shot, killed by officers after pointing gun at police


One person has died after a shooting involving officers from the Moraine Police Department on I-75 near Dryden Road Wednesday morning.The Moraine Police Department says at 5:46 a.m., officers from the Moraine Police and Fire departments responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash.Initial reports stated one vehicle was on its top and another was down in a ditch.Officials say as officers were investigating the crash, they came across an unidentified man who was pointing a gun at the officers.Authorities say two officers fired their weapons in response.Moraine police says paramedics immediately began rendering emergency medical treatment before transporting the man to the hospital, where he later died.Police say an investigation is ongoing and internal investigation will be conducted by the Moraine Police Department.
