Clermont County motorcycle crash claims two lives

Two people died Friday night when the motorcycles they were operating crashed head-on into each other in Clermont County.

A 2023 Honda CRF 125 motorcycle operated by 21-year-old Austin Askren of Williamsburg was traveling southeast on Moore Marathon Road when it is believed to have struck a 2001 Honda CRF 80 motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.

That’s according to a news release from the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which said the wreck about 11 p.m. in Jackson Township remains under investigation.

The release said Justin Bocskor, 25, of Loveland, was operating the CRF 80 motorcycle northwest on Moore Marathon Road and carrying a passenger: Arielle Swearingen, 21, of Williamsburg.

Askren was dead at the scene when emergency workers arrived. Bocskor died shortly thereafter, the release said.

Swearingen was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center to be treated for her injuries. There is no word on her condition.

The release said none of the people involved were wearing helmets.
