An overnight home invasion leads to a man shot in West Chester
Just before 4 a.m., an intruder entered the residence on Timber Rail Court

CREWS ON THE SCENE OF A HOME INVASION WHERE THE ALLEGED INTRUDER GETS SHOT HERE THE HOMEOWNER WAS ALSO INJURED. THIS HEAVEN OF WESTCHESTER ROAD. RICHARD CHILES IS A LIVE FOR US ON THE SCENE WITH WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR. GOOD MORNING. RICHDAR: THERE ARE A TLO OF MOVING PARTS. IT BEGINS WITH A BREAK-IN AND AN INTRUDER COMING INTO THE HOME HERE THE INTRUDER WAS KNOWN TO ETH HOMEOWNERS. ACCORDING TO E THCHIEF, THE INTRUDER BREAKS INTO THE HOME, START A FIGHT WITH THE HOMEOWNERS. AT ONE POINT, THE INTRUDER IS LEAVING THEPP OORTUNITY OUT ON THE PORCH. HE GRABBED A WOMAN INSIDE THE PROPERTY AND TNHE THE MAN FIRES AND SHOOT THE INTRUDER AND NOW IS A VERY COMPLICATED SITUATION THAT CONTINUES. WE KNOW TWO PEOPLE HAVE GONE TO THE HOSPITAL. WE DNOO T HAVE AN UPDATE ON THE CONDITION OF THE INTRUDER. MAKE THE SITUATION TRAGICALLY WORSE, W UNDERSTAND THREE CHILDREN WERE AT THE HOME AT THE TIME OF THE BREAK-IN. >> THERE ARE YOUNG KIDS, 2, 7, 10 THE AGES OF THE CHILDREN INSIDE. RICHARD: FROM TALKING TO WESTCHTEESR POLEIC CHIEF JOEL HERZOG ALONG WITH OTHER OFFICIALS FR WESTCHESTER, WE UNDERSTAND THE INCIDENT TAKING PLACE BEFORE 4:00 ISTH MORNING. THE HOMEOWNER, AN ALTERCATION BEGINS IN THE INTRUDER GRABS A WOMA AND THAT HOMEOWNER FIRES, SHOOTING THE INTRUDER. WE DO KNOW THE PERSON HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL, NO UPDATE ON THEIR CONDITION. THE HOMEOWNER TRANSPORTED TO AN AREA HOSPITAL WITH MINOR LACERATIONS.

An overnight home invasion in West Chester ends with the intruder getting shot.This happened on Timber Rail Court, off West Chester Road just before 4:00 a.m. After breaking into the house, officials with West Chester police say that the intruder began assaulting the homeowners, even dragging them outside.That's when the intruder was shot by one of the homeowners.Two were transported to the hospital following the incident.The male intruder was transported with a gunshot wound. His condition is unknown at this time.One of the homeowners was taken to the hospital with lacerations from the incident.This is a breaking news story. Follow along with WLWT for any future updates.
