Ohio zoo mourns loss of 13-year-old Asian elephant, Beco
The Columbus Zoo is mourning the loss of one of its Asian elephants.The zoo said their 13-year-old Asian elephant, Beco, died around 11 a.m. Saturday.Beco died from Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus (EEHV).The zoo said EEHV is a life-threatening virus that's affecting elephants living in the wild and in sanctuaries and zoos worldwide.
